The Department of Chemistry Conducted a Workshop on Safety

The Department of Chemistry from the Faculty of Science at the University of Zakho organized a 4-day workshop under the title of "Workshop in Laboratory Safety", on 23th of November and December 7, 13, and 14, 2017. The workshop team were Dr. Farhad M. Ali, Dr. Anees W. Shroach, Dr. Nidhal M. Sher Mohammed, and Dr. Pemanos Y. Bakoz who discussed different safety topics including Signs/Chemical Handling, Toxicity, laboratory fire safety and first aid training and Occupational Health and Safety. Following the presentations, the workshop raised questions and made some proposals, with a view to strengthening the recommendations for good practice and keeps the work in Chemistry Lab safely. At the end of the workshop, certificates of participation were awarded to each of the participants.
